mtnl has now made 1199(around Rs. 1200) for unlimited fixed. I no longer see the promotional 3 months condition. sad mtnl you did this. around 700-800 wud have been a killer price tag/month.

seems like it..But unless they are at least upgrading their infrastructure to 7.2Mbps..None are interested...Not me...

Depends on how good the network is. Expect around 2.5mbps if you get good signals. There is no FUP.

But, if you're in Mumbai, MTNL wired is a much better option.

well i am in mumbai but i dont have a landline...besides i travel a lot ill need to disconnect service frequently..which is why i am looking into prepaid 3g...thanks a lot for the reply tough..
It is a great plan tough, right?i cant find any such similar plan on any other carrier...or is there something i am missing?

Travel to where? MTNL 3G indoor coverage isn't very good. No other carrier has such great plans though.

Before investing 1200, test the network out at all places you need it to work.

Oh..sorry i think i didnt make my self clear..i plan on using the mtnl ka sim for net only at my home...but since i travel a lot,i wont be using net consistently..so i will need to disconnect and connect internet if i use a wired broadband plan..

i use a airtel sim as my regular number...the mtnl number will be used for internet only at my home

Right. In any case, before buying a dongle, test the network on your phone or something.

The latency is bad and not fit for gaming, if that matters.

Sorry for replying late. I stay at Thane. I would get close to 250 kbps speed on idm & 170-180 speed on torrents. This plan is totally worth it. But buy the Sim card first check the network signal strength first. If signals are good then buy dongle. I bought zte MF 190 modem @ 950 rs. I downloaded some 500 GBs in 2 months, so if the signal is great then its Christmas. Plus out of Mumbai you can get more than 3 Mbps speed..
