Just back from a 3 day downtime because MTNL decided to cut my connection abruptly saying I hadn't paid my bill for the month of September. On sorting through my bills (for a barely 2 months old connection itself) I noticed MTNL hadn't sent me a bill for September at all! And now it's my fault for them to cut off my connection without as much as a notice! I see this as a fit case for MTNL to be sued in the Consumer Court (for 3 nights worth of bandwidth loss). Only if I had the will to pursue a case in court hrmph.
