I just got my MTNL connection (less than a week after applying) and I'm facing the same problem that lots of people have already posted. I have a Sterlite SAM300 AX modem and I need to figure out how to forward ports on it so that I can run p2p apps on it. I've logged into the 192.168.1.1 page but there doesn't seem to be any port forwarding link from there so I don't know what to do. Can someone help me out with port forwarding for my modem? Also, are there any open ports that I can use for my applications? Thanks a lot.

Welcome to broadbandforum.coAre you using "Dialer" to connect ?Then all ports are open.or try 192.168.1.1/main.html 192.168.1.1/home.html 192.168.1.1/index.htmlChange to PPPOE "AlwaysON" mode. Change settings in WAN page.Post screen shot Modem's Device status page.

Okay, I opened up the 192.168.1.1 page and this is what I got:

Under WAN status:
Virtual Circuit: PVC0
Status: Connected
Connection Type: PPP0E
IP Address: 59.x.x.x
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255
Default Gateway: 59.x.x.x
DNS Server: 203.94.243.70
NAT: Enabled
PPP connection time: 0d:00h:23m:01s:

I guess everything looks okay here so what else can I do?

Ok, I think I figured it out finally. I had to go to Advanced Setup > NAT > Virtual Server. My apps are showing the green light but it could still change 😛.
