Yumist is the latest one. Got a call from their call center that the delivery boy is standing outside.
Uber already does it I think.

This is bad. I am always worried that Flipkart, Amazon has my full name, full office address and mobile number printed on their packaging box. When I get parcel, I try to tear that sticker having all details into small pieces as much possible. But still fear exists what if somebody records all this data and can use it for wrong purpose.
Some kind of proxy via app is needed so that delivery boys/drivers can call their customer by selecting names, but can't get to see their mobile number.

You can always use their delivery boxes feature. I think both Flipkart and Amazon have them in metro cities now 😀

both flipkart and Amazon in some regions allow you to get your product delivered at one of their partner outlets. you have to go there to pick up your product.

Grofers delivery boys for now have direct contact number which they call instead of ringing the bell.
