Monitor or tv ?

Hi,
I was planning to buy a monitor or tv. I want to watch tv as well as use it as monitor. Please suggest what would be better? A monitor with tv ready or a tv which can be connected to a CPU? Thanx in advance.

TVs usually have crappy resolution. Monitors would require some hacking to get them to work with STBs because they do not usually have speakers etc.

Any idea about some good monitors around 15k. Any brands? What would be the size of monitor I will get around 15k.
