Dear Members,
I have been using BSNL broadband for the past one year with WA1003A modem without any problem. I configured the modem as per the instruction provided at Wa 1003a - India Broadband Wiki.

But yesterday when I restarted my modem by pressing the powen on/off button of the modem, it stopped working. Since then I couldn't access net at all.

After that, I restored the modem to factory default setting and tried to re-configure it, but it's not working. Then I created a new connection with the new connection wizard of Windows XP and now I have to connect with the Connect dialog box. And I can connect now.

What seems to be the problem? Why the modem can not connect by itself? Please help.
Thanks.

You have to select PPP/PPPoE and enter userID and PW
in modem. for "Always On" connection .
see the wiki again.

Dear essbebe,
Thanks a lot for such a quick reply. I entered my user id and password in PVC0 connection field and also I changed the type to PPPoE for the "always on". But it's not working. I used the net till yesterday morning.

see steps 10, 11 and 12 of Calcutta website page.Delete and re enter vpi/vci 0 and 35 etc

reset modem and repeat the same steps again.dont forget to click the "save and reboot" or similar option in the configuration page.

first of all bring ur modem to factory defaultthen in connections check all the connections starting from PVC0one of them has vpi/vci as 0/351) if its in PPPoE then click edit at the end of the row...the in subsiquent steps give username and password whr it asks...2)if its in bridge mode then at the end go to editthen in subsuquent steps change it to PPPoE and proceed as 1 above3) or u can delete the bridge connection and creat a new connection in PPPoE mode and follow the 2nd line of step 1 above..or can call on 9437591444

Dear members,Thank you all for your help. After doing the resetting by pressing the back hole of the modem and then configuring the modem, I can ultimately access the "Always On" connection. Thank you once again.

I think my following question will fit here : Which is better the bridge mode or PPPoE mode and why ? Im using bridge ,Is there any disadvantage of this mode ? Thanks in advance
