one problem though. i checked the Apple us store and the cables available there mention that only the 2010 and later models of apple macbook support audio out through these cables. if this is the case, i really have no use for this cable 🙁

Maybe because they have altered their OS to support? If that is the case then you can update the OS if possible.

of course the macbook is running lion today. they specifically mention the macbook 2010 and later edition. so i am assuming that it is a hardware limitations on the older models. i would have to check on Apple related forums. 😛

That would be good idea because i have never used any Apple product till date 😀

I have this cable and know for a fact audio out does not work on older macbooks because of hardware limitations.
