Seems to be available for buying on Amazon. Tentative release date: December 6
But clicking the buy now button doesn't work for now and the seller Cloudtail doesn't show up on the main page. Only thing is that it finally shows up in search results.
Xbox Series X India restocks may take longer than you think with Amazon and Flipkart yet to fulfil orders placed on the Xbox Series X release date of November 10, 2020.
can someone share their experience with Xbox series X. i want to go for it primary for Kodi support and other OTT/ video playback will rarely be used for gaming. Kodi is heavy application hence was thinking for Xbox second option is Nvidia shield which has no warranty in India as not sold here.
what is reliability
what will be length of life without gaming
i hope game pass will not be required for Kodi
i have option of previous gen Xbox series X @25k brand new, not getting that sort of discount with current Generation as of now. Cost of HTPC is also over 25k and around that price you will get Nvidia Shield TV pro if you import. power consumption will be high with xbox but that is not major concern. Major concern is will it run for 8-10yrs, hardware seems to be pretty good considering my requirement.
I have just started using Kodi from last month (after Thoptv died) have found it quite useful but heavy for Mi Box S (using it from past 2 yrs) which i want to replace with Xbox or other streaming box which can serve me close to 10yrs and work on Ethernet.
I will buy series x only but considering demand is very high along with chip scarcity I am not getting it at lower price and at current prices I am not going to buy for sure. @manu1991 how long you have been using xbox and if you could review xbox series s which would help me with my decision. Specs and reviews are great which I have read.
I have been using the Series S for about 4-5 months and had the One S for 3-4 years before that. I haven’t had any issues at all. I don’t use it for HTPC purposes (use firestick for that) so can’t comment on that aspect but otherwise it’s been pretty flawless. I mainly just play gamepass games on it. I got it for around £230 and at that price it’s a no brainer
for your usage, Series S makes a lot more sense than X. The main difference is 4K and 120 FPS gaming but neither of those will matter for your usage. Plus it’s much smaller and lighter.
the only drawback is that there is no optical drive unlike the X in case you want to play blu rays
