So I have this MicroSD card from about 4-6 months.
Strontium MicroSD 16GB Nitro 433X U1 + class 10
This is my 2nd Strontium MicroSD card. Both card developed same problem.
This 2nd card was a replacement I got for 1st card (which failed under warranty)
Problem:
I can read from the card but I can no more write to it.
Write operation DOES NOT give error. I can even delete a file (temporarily)
But after I unmount / eject the card and re-insert it shows no data change. Deleted file re-appears!!
If I format the card and I re-insert card. All the data is still intact.
So basically ALL write operations temporarily succeed but once card is removed / re-inserted all the modifications are UNDONE!!
In short card is now in read-only mode!!
I dont think MicroSD card has mechanical write lock - like old SD cards used to have.
So anyone has any trick with which I can repair it?
Strontium says cards have lifetime warranty - but I do not know what exactly is lifetime warranty.
I have filed RMA today but I do not know if they will accept OR reject.
But in the mean time I am trying to repair it - if there is a way.
PS:
New card costs around 400Rs. So I might buy new one instead of claiming warranty as going to their local office and obtaining replacement will take away 3hrs and 100Rs anyway.
So if anyone can suggest better reliable card. Please do.
