Would you guys recommend Mastodon?

There is nothing wrong with Mastodon as a platform. It's the same issue as whatsapp. People you want to follow are not going to be there. Even worse, it would be incredibly hard to find them.

It's quite useless to get indian news there for instance. Sure you can follow some bots posting rss feed or replicating Twitter account of news sites. It's not the same thing.

Having said that I created my account during the 2019 fiasco. And I do spend more time on Masto compared to Twitter these days.
