Hi all

I installed Ubuntu 7.10. I use ADSL Router DSL-502T which I connect through the USB. I am having difficulty connecting to the net. I used Steve Harper's adsl usb modem manager here USB ADSL Modem Manager - Ubuntu Forums

but to no success. I already went to System->Networks and enabled the connection with these settings

IP 192.168.1.2
Subnet 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.1.1

Can anyone who has done this before guide me ?

Regards
Rohil

PS - Its quite frustating for a newbie 😀

The usb drivers for DSL502T may not be compatible for Linux.
search for update Linux driver/s. there does not seem to be any LINUX version.
see sites given here.

D-Link DSL-502T - Whirlpool.net.au
look at the bottom of the page for support files downloads.

If still you have WindowsXP , try with that OS.

rohilsinha, just a few questions...Are you not able to connect, or not browse?Have you tried using ethernet instead of usb?It seems like you have assigned a static IP to your NIC, instead of using DHCP. Have you also specified DNS servers? Finally, are you attempting to use bridged mode or PPPoE?I haven't looked into that USB ADSL Modem Manager. Can't guide you with it. Unless you have a really compelling reason to use USB, try using ethernet.
