Maybe another year before he retires.

Like he left Captaincy of Test team, this time also BCCI announced Dhoni retirement instead of Dhoni himself announcing it.

Virat took over in Tests in 2014. Dhoni was ODI/T20I captan till now.

Only question is will he stay till 2019. With young players like Rishabh Pant, Ishan Kishan addding pressure. He needs to keep producing special knocks to survive.
