MUMBAI: Worried about possible terror attacks on Maharashtra’s water installations, the state government is going to request the Centre to block information on dams from search engines such as Google. “We are going to request the Centre about security of dams and also to block information regarding them available on search engines like Google,” Home Minister R R Patil told reporters here today.

As if Google is the only search engine!!! There is Yahoo, bing and 1,00,000+ other search engines! Are they going to sit and block all these sites?
 
Government does not understand that it is impossible to block internet.Only way to protect country is stop corruption and stop playing politics.But they cant do both. So they are trying 3rd way which is impossible too.In short. if something is going to happen, it will happen.
 
well china has proved that you can effectively censor the internet for at least majority of your citizens. there are ways to get around their national firewall. but generally speaking they control the internet access in the country very tightly and if any company does not follow their rules they are told to get lost. india? it's a joke. the online maps we access show PoK and CoK as disputed lands which are not i believe proper as per our government's views. if it was the other way round, china would have kicked some serious asses 😀

Government are idiots !They don't even know what internet is.Just saw China doing it and they are following it blindly.
 
what a developing country we are becoming, Are U.S.A. and U.K. and other similar countries not able to prevent terror attacks by living with these technology.If 3G can do video calls, BAN IT.If a service wants to give live cam feed, BAN ITIf there's some technology prospering, BAN ITIf there's a voice against corruption, BAN ITOnly thing acceptable by these parasites are SCAM SCAM, Ghoos, Murder, Rape, Child Labour, child abuse, harassment of people struggling to grow in their small business,extortion, let poor die with hunger and cold, let the food get rotten at railway's open air storage cause the pesticides and covered ware house has been eaten up by ghooskhor, let people get frustrated for being here, cause allowing growth is a terror threat in terms of those sarkari babu'sFeel like Damned in India.....
