Brilliant use of resources... Indeed. Hewlett Packard has geniuses working for them.

I suppose it's not that bad considering it's freeeeeeeeeeeee! :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop:
The problem area here is this. The laptops were paid by the government not the baap-beta thugs. So, how can they enforce their own promotion on these laptops?

Indian government rejected the OLPC proposal because they wanted to do something like this. Aakash is a mega scam in itself. God knows how much money these thugs made in this free laptop distribution scheme.

Students are given free Laptops supposedly to help them with their studies, not to f*ck with the partitioning and BIOS.
It's a free working Laptop for God's Sake!

governments in the past have distributed free television sets. so this is nothing new. the problem here is how it is being misused to promote two individuals who have invested zero money in the whole thing.
So, what if the course they are studying is related to management of computer hardware like BIOS and Hard Disk?
Are you going to distribute rice and then say, use only in making biryani otherwise it would turn poisonous and become unworthy of eating?

They are going to put do's and don'ts for the same, they are not asking "Students' to bear the repair costs, are they?
    Bad example.

bad example how? you distribute a free tv but the tv comes with a lock that puts it on a news channel that is affiliate with the ruling party?
OLPC is designed to let the kids explore the device and the hardware. Locking the device just because it's free makes the entire concept absurd.
