this seems like such a stupid goal to have. ISS is 'international' space station. it has modules from multiple countries on earth. nasa relies on russian as well as privately owned rockets to manage it. and here india wants a desi space station. so much nonsense.
someone tell him that ISS is the single most expensive human made object in history of mankind but he definitely knows that.
he's just doing this for PR . You can quote me on this but the most earliest ISRO can have main module of gangayaan will be 15years minimum ( this is including most favourable projections)
space launches are costly and we dont have rockets that can support huge loads. So we have to rely on other countries which will drive up the costs. or develop our own heavy load vehicle which will again cost a lot but atleast it'll give us experience and freedom to not rely on other countries.
beside that theres sourcing components/testing etc. This guy is plain bullshitting if he says we can have it done in 7 years.
