iphone5 not working with reliance gsm(Delhi)

HiI bought iPhone 5 tonight 16GB and using with Reliance GSM (DELHI) circle.However,it is not working,meaning when sim card is inserted & phone is turned on,network comes up for 15-20secs & then it says "sim failure". i already tried reset phone,reset network settings,erase phone settings,still same thing happens. The network comes for 15-20 secs & then again "sim failure".i cannot try with another sim card as i don't have another nano sim.P.S Mobile store guy used the nano sim cutter & cut the sim card from normal sim card. Same sim card is working fine with my Nokia phone.Please help !

Did he cut the silicon part by mistake?check by comparing with any other sim.

No.i have seen it using magnifying glass,those gold color chip of sim card is intact
