The Delhi High Court has asked the government to respond to a petition challenging the constitutionality of CERT-In's cybersecurity directions. The directions require companies to collect and share personal data with CERT-In on demand or in the event of a cyber security incident.
A VPN service provider, SnTHostings, filed the petition in the Delhi High Court arguing that the directions violate the privacy of citizens. The court has now issued a notice to the Union Government seeking its response to the petition. The matter will now be heard on December 9, 2023.
