India Claims Way to Monitor Corporate BlackBerry Emails Without Encryption Keys - N4BB

India claimed to have received the encryption keys from Research In Motion. By having the encryption keys, one can then access corporate emails and data on BlackBerry Enterprise Server. However, RIM denied ever giving India access.

India says it has now worked out how to monitor corporate emails sent to and from Blackberry devices without needing encryption keys, which RIM says only customers have. Aside from being disturbing for Big Brother reasons, the news is problematic for RIM because one of its major attractions is the security of its email system.

well in reality RIM bended backwards and have handed over the RSA keys to the Indian data center they had set up last year, infact they have just handed over the whole set up to Indian govt so yeah BB users should dump their BB's now and learn to set up own mail servers for corporate use with PGP. another failing brand trying to suck up to govts rather then fighting it out with competition.
