The pings are high within India itself, let alone to the rest of the world. They need to sort that out too, but they probably never will.

Hello, I have some friends who play online games, when they ask my net speed i feel very embrassed. I want to know why broadband is so exensive and slow in india.Max. Speed for Home use is 2Mbps 😡I just want to know wat cause increase in cost of broadband.I've read in some thread that even pakistan has more speed than india.India is a developing nation, still roaming in Kbps's, Most of ppl need Mbps'swithout any download limitPlz Reply

I dont have BSNL, i have HFCL connect's 128kbps UL connection for Rs.590+Tax=650
HFCL ConnectBroadband :: Products & Services :: Home Users
i cannot get BSNL coz so much initial charges,
Security 500
Modem 1200
installation 300
rest about Rs.1500 they will send in 1st bill
For HOME PLAN 500, i've to pay 500+150(phone rent)+tax
Whereas HFCL gives:
Modem Free of Cost
No Installation Charges
No phone bill, it is included in Rs.590
But still it is very slow & costly

HFCL Connect
See latest tariff and upgrade to 256Kbps. Rs 990 + Taxes. !
Para two :
Modem can be taken on rent in BSNL. No need to pay Rs 1200/=
Installation not charged , if you can set the connection.
Best plan is Home 500 with Nu free 0200-0800 and Home 500C and Home 500C+ with free telephone calls etc.
Recurring PM 500+60 + 12.5 %taxes say approx Rs 650/=
Telephone you can opt for ONEIndia Plan with rental of Rs 180 P.M.
Check latest BSNL plans also.
http://www.bsnl.co.in/service/dataone.htm
By the way how much it will cost in Foreign countries ( say U.S) for Tariff Home 500 plan ? one or two U.S dollars P.M ?

The whole discussion is about cost and speed. So far none had posted an ISP either from Pakistan or anywhere else,Or given a comparison with a similar BSNL tariff .Remember Budget limit is Rs 650 PM, by thread starter @/member/av3ng3r/.

In US AT&T has far better plans than we have here and US is a backwater in broadband compared to S.Korea Japan and Scandinavian countries.

AT&T's Elite plan costs $35 (Rs.1575)
which is all iclusive.

Free hardware modems and routers costing more than $100 and protective software.

Speed upto 6MBPS.

11 Email ID's.

No download limits.

You can check it here.
AT&T High Speed Internet Comparison

So when we compare BSNL's highest tariff plan it shows we are getting zero value for money.

BSNL's 8MBPS Business plan
Cost Rs.2000 ($27)
Download limit 12GB
1 Email ID
No free Modem or Router
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.

So what to do?
