Incentivized reviews on Amazon India

I get offers to write 'honest' 5 star reviews on Amazon India on a regular basis. Started happening when I entered the top 500 reviewers. At one point of time I was in the top 300 I believe. These days I am close to getting out of top 500. Anyhow.

based on my experience... there are two things i would recommend.

1. Stay out of the Top 500 reviewers if you do not plan to benefit from that.
2. Do not trust overly positive reviews on obscure (and non obscure) products from Top 500 reviewers.

3. Too many Top Reviewer reviews.

I mostly keep an eye on 2 and 3.

Sellers on Amazon India are openly bribing customers for 5 stars. If you mention that in your review so that other customers know this is happening, Amazon rejects the review claiming the review is about the "packaging experience". Amazon is complicit in this fake review scam. : assholedesign
