to be precise, Airtel is moving backward 😛
Agree. 😛 But even after moving backward, they are still ahead of BSNL plans as they were moving forward at least in the last two years when BSNL had stopped moving even an inch. Just to give an example, at Rs.1700 (minus taxes) and Rs.1910 including taxes, BSNL provides only 40 GB data at 2 mbps speed and thereafter 256 kbps. In comparison, Airtel provides 80 GB limit on a 2 mbps speed with 256 kbps thereafter on a Rs.1699 plan in all regions where they are present. So, Airtel still provides double the benefit in the price point I am paying. If I move a bit up, Airtel plans are far better both in speed and pricing compared to BSNL. For example, their 175 GB limit plans are very good for the speed and pricing compared to BSNL. BSNL is somewhat OK only for the low end plans (below Rs.1000) and nothing else. Airtel is regressing at times but BSNL is in a deep slumber from where only god knows who will wake them up. As I said earlier in another thread, don't be surprised if 3G and 4G plans become better than BSNL wired plans in the coming years.
