I want to buy a Digital Thermometer. Inputs are welcome

As the title says i am thinking of buying a thermometer. Not decided on non contact or contact type. What should I look for (specs). I have never used one but family members were suggesting I should get one😁 So all inputs are welcome. Saw a 'Dr Trust' thermometer, this caught my eye only because I have a oximeter of the same brand.

For some reason I can't get the temperature to go above 96.4 F. Will try dipping in warm water. Tried touching an ext hdd after it was used but it was displaying Lo because the ambient temp was v low.

Yeah, check it thoroughly. Sellers are sending defective products nowadays.

Mere touching the contact type thermometer to something won't show the temperature. The whole silver tip should make contact for it to show the proper temp.
