I want 256 Unlimited pack.Queries please answer

Please guide me i am totally new at sify
i am purchasing 256 Unlimited pack that is for 795

they are providing connection in my area now in kalyan city

PLease help me and answer this queries

1)How to check i have downloaded 150 mb in a day.
ALso can i download unlimited at night
will they warn if i continue downloading large files in night everyday.
also because night begans at 10 pm if i connect to internet at 9.30 pm and go on till 8 am and downloads more than 150 mb will i will be charged.
or i have to disconnect and then reconect.

2)How much can i download or upload maximum and minimum in 1 hour
Please tell me in mb.

3)how to renew pack . 256 Unlimited pack that is for 795 i am purchasing now for renewal what will be the cost. it will be less or same

4)how to share and download files from other computers
What software it wants. how to connect to others
Please note i have 2 computers i connect them to lan to exchange files.
so it is between my computer .but i am asking for connecting to outside world.
but this is broadband connection so how to do it
dc++ hub Should i connect to this or computer that is connected by lan

If yes can i always renew my ip address so that no one mischieve with that

6)can i use norton antivirus with sify. i dont want to use mcafee.

7) Will i get full 256 kpbs speed.i mean 2-3 years back when many took sify here the provider cheted many and had shared many users so they where getting less speed.

and in night i am only on internet all other are not will i get more speed

You can check on their site.U can download at night unlimited. U have to protect yrself by logout at 10 pm on their servers and login again at 10:01 pm on their server timings. "or i have to disconnect and then reconect." -->thats best policy rather then fighting later with dumb people.

Please tell me in mb.
112 MB total either upload or download or both.

SAME + CTO Charges anywhere between Rs. 50 to Rs. 150.

u will get approx 32KB.

Yes. i think 250 MB 1 email id.

it may take 1 day to 1 month. its sify. normally in 1 day u call call center.

U cannot get more then 32 KB

11)Also if i download files with shared person computer .i mean lan or hub, will it also be counted  and limits 150 mb only in day .
NO. But not advisable to use sharing.

Download Sify Guard from https://broadband.forum/SuperSify_Keep_Alive-t1613.html and this may solve your problem. You can download unlimited from 10pm and 8 am, no one is gonna warn u for that. It will start counting your 150 MB after 8 am.

If you are taking the 256 Kbps pack then you will get 30 KBps upload/download speed (the speed for upload/download also depends on the server from/to where u r downloading/uploading)

U can renew from either your CTO or from the sify site. If u renew online then u wont be charged extra but if u renew from your CTO then he might charge u extra Rs 50 or 100 as service charge.

Download Kazaa, emule, Shareaza, edonkey 2000 etc

Your IP will be static, you can request your CTO to assign u a different IP.

Better download an alternate client for Sify. There are 2 but I suggest you to download SuperSify from https://broadband.forum/sify/supersify/ along with Sify Guard from https://broadband.forum/SuperSify_Keep_Alive-t1613.html

You will not require your default Sify BB client to connect. Supersify can do everything u want.

You will get 256/8 = 32 KBps speed

Yeah, they do provide a mail. Contact the customer care for further details.

For the downtimes call your CTO n for other issues Call on their customer care number 16003453330 or 26932501 (if u r in delhi)

As long as u r using your username of sify, the data transfer will be counted from your account.

CTO = Cable TV Operator (the people who are providing you internet service)

Install an antivirus + a firewall that will keep you virus free.

Do yourself a favour and DO NOT opt for Sify. Take anything and I mean anything but Sify. Even Dial Up will serve you better, trust me and the loads of other people on this forum.

Ask your CTO to give u extra wire so that u can drag it to you another room.

Go WiFi, that will cost nearly 5k for a WiFI router and a card, but you will have much more flexibility.
