I registered for no-ip.com as I need a static ip to access a perticular portal. there are many tech savvy people here so I hope I will get some help! to use that portal, I need to give them static ip. what I will give - .no-ip.biz? if I use no-ip DUC, will I be able to access the portal anytime I need? another question - dynamic ip is better for RS, .. 🙂 can I switch on & off this no-ip service? Please let me know

RS has nothing to do with NO-IP. RS doesnt see your NO-IP domain but just IP.If you have static IP then NO-IP doesnt make sense. NO-IP is for dynamic IP mapping to a domain name. You can use static IP with NO-IP but then NO-IP will delete the domain if IP doesnt change for, i think, 3months.

amish, you misunderstood. what I said is - I have BSNL so dynamic IP. I need static ip to access a particular portal. so I want to use NO-IP.com service. Now my questions are - 1) After using NO-IP will that portal see my IP as a fixed one?2) What IP should I give to portal guys as my static IP? (NO-IP gave xxxxx.no-ip.biz)3) Can I switch on my static ip when I need and stop when I don't? how? Hope I made my points clear now. Please reply. Thanks in advance
