I get Error:691 invalid username and password

For the past 5 days Iam facing a new problem. The problem is that I'm not able to connect to my broadband connection - I get Error:691 invalid username/password. But when I goto my portal
http://10.240.43.216/webLogin.jsp , I can login! ( I don't understandwhats going on ? ) Also, I checked that there is no problem with my modem as I can login with my friend's password. plz help?????????

You have to reset the password. Even I faced the problem till yesterday. Call the cust. care and ask them to reset your passsword else do it yourself by logging on to your portal.

Reset means change d password na??? ya i changed it...but its still showing error 691....

well i meant to say tht i can connect my bb with my freinds username nd password....nd i can loggin into d portal with my username nd password..but can't connect my bb with it..error 691....nd i changed my password to same as my freinds password..but after tht also its showing error 691....i didn't get ur 2nd point..wheres wan page???? nd do i hv to install d software given in d cd of modem..coz i never installed my modem..i just connected with my pc...only lan driver is installed...nd created pppoe dialer manually as it can b done in windows xp....it was working fine for 1 yr..nething oder to do???plz explain ur 2nd point regarding wan page..

If you know reset the modem to factory settings.
(with power on to modem. press with a used Ball point refill the "RESET" recess for approx 20 to 30 seconds.

Use UserID without @ bsnl.in

lease time say 420 minute or 60x24 1440 minutes.
In computer:
Start/Network/Local Area Connection/ Properties.
Select TCP/IP properties.
Check "obtain IP address automatically'"
In DNS enter 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222

Give feedback. Post IPconfig/all , and screenshot of Summary page. if not connected.

After getting connected to Internet try "Bridged" dialup mode.
Then wireless settings , if needed.

thx 4 ur reply again..well at 1st i reset the modem....den typed the URL http://192.168.1.1 ..den admin as both id nd password....den did all d things according to d screenshots of tht web site...in wan page under pppoe properties typed my username without @dataone nd password....den i clicked save all...den d device reboots...but after reboot my link of modem is constantly turning red on nd off...instead of a steady green.... so i had to again reset d modem....now D-Link is steady green...so what to do now???
