I just recently met a Hutch sales rep. According to him the formalities for the merger are still in progress. All of them post merger will come under HUTCH-ESSAR group. Till date Hutch & BPL are still acting as competers & try to get business deals independently. Rest assured post merger BPL services are bound to improve.

AFAIK Hutch has activated free roaming in Maharashtra and Goa . You have to select the BPL network ( please confirm this) in Maharashtra to get free roaming and also incoming free.BTW I think in this regard MTNL is the best. Free roaming in whole India, plus incoming free in maharashtra and also now rent free GPRS on prepaid . Just the right package for college goers...what say??!?
