how we can re-use the dish

HII have a dish provided by dishtv(zee network).I unsubscribed their service and had transferred the set-top box to a friend of mine. Now i would like to know,how can i use that dish to view channels (free-to-air).Which set-top box or FTA receiver should i go for.Is there anyway to get foreign channels(which are not shown thru premium dth operators/cable operators).Expecting valuable answers & suggestions from allThank you
 
THIS TRICK DIDNT WORK WITH MY STB EVEN I CHANGE SETTING AS BELOW AFTER MY SUBSCRIPTION END. DONT KNOW WHAT CAN HAPPEN WITH OTHERS USERS. SHARE EXPERIENCE HERE PLEASE.

U can get DDD+ with dish box. If subscription is not expired. If expired you can subscribe again at ur own risk.

Go to STB info.> press Red button > Frequencies (top menu) > press just 7531 (it will not display) > change Freq. to one of 11090 / 11150 / 11470
> Sr - 27500 Feq - 3/4 Press OK

Get back

LNB Status > change 10600 to 9750 > ok

& exit & rescan it & will get either 20 TV / 36 TV with different frequencies.

If u subscription is on.

Then just LNB Status > change 10600 to 9750 > ok you will get all ddd+ channels in one scan.
