How to disable SSID-2 www.excitel.com on Excitel Fiber Routers?

Hi,

I just got Excitel Fiber. But I was surprised to see a 3rd SSID www.excitel.com being shown. I cannot see any option how to disable it. Does any one aware of the same.

actually No. Even I got a new excitel connection about 1 week back and got richerlink ONU with updated interface for administration.

router model is Model: RL821GWV-D

cost : 2k. u can't turn off the www.exci ssid.

I just did using the backup restore option.

how? and restore to default config or factory config? there are 2 options. and when it is done, what will be the ssid pass? i don't have any wifi pass sticker on the back of the router and i don't wanna get stuck with that. my laptop doesn't have LAN port so i'll be stuck.

Password for www.excitel.com ssid is.. 11223344
But they have disabled the internet for this ssid.

Yep, password is that. Anyone can get into the router though and then create more ssids or change passwords to existing and what the hell more. It's scary.

@Gaurav15 u won't be successful. For genexis router it is serial no. Or mac id of router. For richerlink someone else may tell

what ip address are you using for login?

You can find it by typing in ipconfig on cmd. Usually its 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1

I have turned off WLAN and connected router. Simple! Just irritated that I spent so much (2k) but it's fine, atleast this onu of 2k have 4 ports compared to 750 one with just 1 port.

@Sandy11 , I also did the same, turned off WAN on excitel router and connected my own using lan. Please let us know once you find a way to disable this unwanted SSID.

When I turned off WLAN , it disabled all SSID's for me including www.excitel.com one.

Yeah, apparently that's the only way. I wanted to use both of my routers for extended wifi range on my multi story house.

I was messing around with titanium 2122a, seems like you can easily disable the www.excitel.com SSID via telnet. Telnet to your router and type the following commands

tcapi get Wlan_Entry1 SSID
Check if the SSID shown is actually www.excitel.com or not otherwise change Entry* number.
tcapi set Wlan_Entry1 EnableSSID 0
tcapi wlan_commit
