How to determine my broadband speed?

Hi,
I recently changed to the BSNL HOME UL plan (for rs 450/- now 525/- pm)
I feel I am getting very slow download speed.
1. As You Tube videos take a long time to start playing.
2. FreeDownload manager, displayed 50 -57 kbps; when downloading a torrent.
How can I determine the correct speed, I get.
In some other threads, I came across SRN?
What is SRN? Where can I find the value for my connection?

Your speed is perfectly fine. Switch to a better plan if you want more speed.speedtest.net . Visit this website and perform a speed test.

You are getting proper speed for your connection. There will be a bit of buffering of 512 / 256 Kbps for YouTube. If you are getting around 55 KBps it is good speed.
