Hi,
I am trying to configure my connection setting in linux, but couldn't get it done. Details are given below . Please help me if any one knows ..

distro: FC5

Network connection Settings:
Physical Address: 00-0E-A6-08-22-35
IP Address: 60.243.130.91
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 60.243.128.1
DNS Servers: 202.88.174.6, 202.88.174.8

Even though i set the above settings in `neat`, i am not able to connect to internet.

I also tried by executing `route add default gw 60.243.128.1 eth0` but it gives me the error "destination not reachable".

thanks

^is the ISP a cable internet provider?anyways for using net in Linux,u may need pppoe method.
if the cable ISP provided dhcp, you can set to dhcp mode in the network option in menu.(system-config-network).

wait!I got a link :
[ILUG-BOM] HOWTO-Setup Hathway Cable-internet on Debian Linux using USB interface

my ISP is a cable internet provider and i am using a static ip not a dhcp ... actually neat is similar to system-config-network ... and did set all the settings in neat .. the link tells that the routing table should have the gateway added in it .. but when i am trying to add the gateway using 'route' , it throws an error saying destination not reachable .
