How to check BSNL Broadband Account Usage?

my broadband speed is very slow i checked in testmy.net site it is showing 12kByps/0.1mbpsi have got 500c plan in that they have mentioned 256kBps to 2mbpsbut my speed is very slow :madness:how can i rectify it hey if anybody is having solution for me please suggestas quick as possible🙁

first of all don't rely on speed testing sites for anything.try to download something from sun microsystems(java setup),softpedia(trial softwares),microsoft etc with a download manager like flashget or IDM at night(in free time 2-8AM or after 10PM) & then see how much speed you got.

dear whitestar_999oh sorry i have forgotten that i was in my mail page. thanks for your suggestion hai i am using idm at night. i checked it out i am getting only 200 kbps it is not enough for me i have dowloaded some of tutorials for my studies.please help me to get more speed than now i am recevingwith reg

download connection booster from (add www. )trackzapper.com Download the program. Select default values . Check speed at speedtest.net mumbai server.Before and after using the program.report any improvement.What is the modem you use ? can you check SNR and attn ?

hai i am using idm at night. i checked it out i am getting only 200 kbps
IDM shows values in KBps & if you are getting 200KBps that means you are getting 200*8=1600kbps or around 1.6-1.7mbps which can be considered as average if not good for a 2mbps connection.

for conversion bit into byte
200/1024=0.19 mbps
if it is correct then my speed is very low

2 Mega bits/sec = 2,000,000 bits/sec = 250,000 Bytes/sec = 244.14 Kilo Bytes/sec.

Generally Line rates are higher than 2 Mega bits. So the speed would vary according to line condition.

Like my line rate is set to 2560Kbps
2560 Kilo bits/sec = 2,560,000 bits/sec = 320,000 Bytes/sec = 312.5 Kilo Bytes/sec.
I have noticed my top speed to be around 267 Kilo Bytes/sec.:redface:

in binary system factor is 1024 not 1000.even bsnl use this system & according to them 2mbps=2048kbps not 2000kbps.
as for line rate all bsnl provided modems are usually set with 2048kbps downstream & speed in ADSL depends not on modem but at the exchange.so you may get speeds upto 290KBps but only for a few seconds.average download speeds will still be around 240-250KBps.

2 megabytes = 2048 kilobytes = 2097152 bytes

ok they have said min of = 256 kbps
and max of 2 mbps
we are receiving only a min speed it is not sufficient for me. otherwise we can take 512 kbps plan with full day free.
because i want to download more gbs so why only i chosed this plan
