How to Automatically Start PPPOE Connections in XP

without reading it isnt it as simple as unchecking the option to ask for a username and passord and then dragging the link into the startup folder? :pedit: omg that process is long as hell and u need to download some software to dial the connection.. try wat i've written above.. :)

Except that the programs specified in the startup folder are not started until someone logs on. If it runs as a service, then it runs right along with other system services. The advantage is that even if the comp goes off or is switched off, merely switching the machine on again starts the net access. This allows computers that get their net via this computer through Internet connection sharing (ICS) to get access to the net :)

Why not just install RASPPPOE and use its files to set up the same thing? IMO its a lot simpler that way.

Why not indeed ? I was not aware of RASPPPOE until I read your post. The next time I have to set this up, I will check this out.
