This is a vote to find out how much electricity we consume, and how are we doing in terms of our CO2 emissions. The vote is not simple, you will have to make some effort, here is how to calculate your kwh/sqft/year:1. Add all yourl units from your electrical bills of last 12 months. This is your total-Kwh.2. Find your house's carpet area (carpet-sqft)kwh/sqft/yr = total-kwh/carpet-sqftYou will be amazed with the figure that you arrive and where it is on the various green scales. Please do vote once you have the figure, else we wont get a true picture of how we are doing as a community. The stars does not refer to any consortium, in India we do not yet have a star rating for residences based on electrical consumption, it is only for reference sake.

Thinking, why is there no vote or comment even after so much interest to the topic. This is not an embarrassment thread, nor does it intrude on anyone's privacy, since the calculation is per sqft, without the size of your home, no one can find out your actual usage. Besides I think voting itself is pretty anonymous (guessing). Cheers guys, go ahead and give your calculators some exercise. 🙂

Hi, pls use the vote feature also on top of the thread. Another thing effecting this vote is where we live in India, a person living in Bangalore will comparatively will have less cooling requirement than someone living in hot and humid climate, like Kolkata, or extremely hot places like chhatisgarh. So the vote actually has more meaning state wise, but for that we need more response.
