Reliance wired internet
I'm a reliance wired internet user and I've been facing high ping issues on Singapore cs servers for around 1-1.5 months. Singapore servers used to give me around 60-100 ping which was pretty nice. (75-80 most of the time) Few weeks ago when the problem began , I got 200-250 ping with packet loss from 1-50% throughout the match . Now I get around 150-180 ping in Singapore servers which isn't a decent ping for competitive. Now I have almost no packet loss . At night sometimes around 1-2 Am if I get lucky I get Arab servers where I get 45-57 ping which is awesome!
I wrote to reliance and they sent a guy to my place to check the connection. As soon as he came in I knew there's nothing much he can do. I explained him the problem. Showed him the tracert results to the servers my friend was currently playing in. Told him how it is now and how it used to be . He ping tested google and some other ips said its running just fine. I told him I just wanted to get the port changed , to which he said you can't change port in dynamic connection. If youtube and google are working then I can't do anything about it. Later he called a guy who was standing below my building , a guy who works with wires and stuff. I asked him what he was gonna do about it? The guy at my home said he's gonna try changing port.. (😵 the same guy who just said port can't be changed with dynamic ip address , obviously none of us knew what the hell we were talking about)
After the other did "something"to the wires , nothing changed. (yay)
While having our regular "having no clue but still talking" conversation , he said that I'd suggest you to opt for static ip address. I asked him about it , he said reliance provides static ip connections, which are more expensive but are much more stable. It doesn't get disconnected on power cut. (mine does) And he claims I will get better ping with it. When asked he said these connections are not mentioned in official site. I'll have to re-submit papers and a "port" will be sent from mumbai (wut) , pay installation fee etcetera . Its just like having a new connection ,I can't just "change" my current connection to static. (still wanted to remind you that none of us had any idea what we were dealing with here)
Later I politely ask him to gtfo and then I cried n cried till the sun set. End of story. Below are some results you might want to have a look at.

I don't have much Isps in my area. And changing my isp isnt' my first preference either. Throw some light on this topic , and what do I talk to the customer care now?
Edit : I'm from New Delhi

My friend having mtnl broadband is having more or less same ping these days . And while doing a tracert test on his system, looks like he's also getting reliance bandwidth .

3254 at local gateway. That's your issue. Routing is fine.

didn't see that. it might have occurred because I had torrent's seed on. here's tracert again

Dude i am having the same problems as you for the past 2 weeks. I play battlefield 4 a lot on singapore servers. Earlier i used to get a solid ping of something around 80ms with no lag whatsoever. But for the past 3 weeks (starting around 20th sept) my ping to the same SG servers is a whopping 300ms. On a really good day, i get a ping around 250ms. But whether it is 250 or 300 the game is just unplayable due to lag and i also get kicked from many servers. My other clan mates too are having the same problem, but atleast they have a much better ping of around 150-170 ms. Earlier none of us had this problem and we all used to get easily within 100ms. I am a BSNL user unlike you but i think regardless of the isp, the ping to SG servers has gone up drastically in the past month or so. Maybe it has something to do with the servers dropping a channel somewhere in between which earlier used to connect to india directly via chennai and now are routing through a whole new different route. Whether you are a reliance user or BSNL, many if not all are experiencing the same problem across india. To me it doesnt look like it is the fault of respective internet providers, could be some server side issue as well. Anyways how is your ping now?

My guess is that it won't get fixed anymore. My ISP buys bulk bandwidth from Reliance as well. This is crap. I'm not bothered anymore.

Well what makes you think so? If you have some credible info then please share it with us. I think this has happened with BSNL in the past too. It should be fine in the coming days.

Well, if you pay attention to the routing and mergers and acquisitions, and news over the past few years, you'll know that Reliance bought flagtel. Thing is, back in 09, they started a terrestrial link connecting India to China, and HK. This is how we're getting routed, instead of SEA-ME-WE-4 or 3 or the Tata direct line to Singapore. This routing started for us as well because it would reduce the pressure on the AAG ( which got cut outside Vietnam on Sept 15th ) while it was getting repaired.

However the cable was repaired last week, and This is why one of the London routes randomly shows up in a trace, completely messing things up. Earlier, Reliance used to use one of the undersea cables, resulting in a ~80ms route from Delhi to SG. At this point, we're getting routed through Mumbai, and the terrestrial link to HK and then to SG. My ISP does use Tata bandwidth as well, but I have no idea how they've distributed it.

After speaking to one of the guys in the backend today, he said they can't do anything specific for routing, so I asked him if a plan change would force me onto another provider ( they buy bulk bandwidth from quite a few providers ) like it does for BSNL and MTNL, and he said he'll get back to me on Monday.

For now, all we can hope is for Reliance to route us back the normal way, so we can get our decent pings again.

i'm a csgo player myself and i use MTNL it's such a relief seeing other ISPs suffering from the same problem

can you give me any singapore csgo server ip so i can tracert and ping it to see if my isp is also suffering from same problem

Thanks for the reply dude. This was by far the most useful and informative post i have come across in any broadband forum. Yes, the only thing which we can do now is just wait and hope that the routing to singapore goes back to its original state. And hey, i have one request. Please keep us posted of any development/info you get regarding the same above issue after you meet one of those backend guys on monday. Anyways, Thank you so much for this informative post.

Hey thundurus, i mostly play battlefield 4 on singapore servers. Earlier i used to get a ping of <80ms on those servers but now i am getting around 300. If you dont mind can you please check tracert to ip of one of those Battlefield 4 servers and let me know. Here is the ip of that server. 216.12.220.171 Thanks.....

Fine at my end , i am not sure but i think my ISP uses tata and airtel bandwidth .
