So, I had this Teracom BSNL Type II ADSL Modem with Wifi Routing lying around and I thought maybe I could use it to wifi route my EVDO connection on my Windows 8 PC.
I have the following right now:-
1. Modem
2. Ethernet Cable
3. Windows 8 PC
What I tried:-
1. Connected Ethernet cable between a LAN port on the Modem and the PC.
2. Shared my EVDO connection to the Ethernet.
3. Swicthed WiFi ON on the Modem.
4. Tried connecting WiFi on my Android.
It detects the WiFi and connects to it, but can't browse the internet.
Any ideas?

You cannot use evdo with an adsl modem. It will definitely not work.
You need a Wifi router that supports cdma /evdo dongle.
You can find many in the market from TP-Link, I ball etc.

The one i have is a WiFi router. Are you sure that it won't work? Instead of directly connecting EVDO to the modem, I am trying to share the EVDO connection from the PC to the router and then share it from there via WiFi. Are you certain it won't work?

It can route Wifi of adsl signals.. Not evdo. I'm 100 % sure.
It doesn't have requirements to load modem drivers and stuff. Noway an adsl modem can be used alongside a 3g/3.5g dongle.
I use an I ball 3g+ wireless n router myself.

Old post but was searching for something similar, CMSIVA you didnt got what VISTATECH meant, he just want to share internet connection and not using USB modem directly on ADSL modem's USB port. And there should be a way to share the internet connection so that the ADSL can work as a WiFi router/access point.
