please help me out in buying a laptop ....my budget is around 40-50k...though i can stretch it to 52k......the configurations i would prefer are-1. 17 inch glossy screen...(15 will also do but certainly not less than that)2. core duo or core duo 23. comfortable keyboard4. 1gb ram (though 512x512 ddr2 ram will do)5. good grafic card (preferably for the newer games)Also i would prefer if its a Dell or a Acer I will be basically playing and chattin on the laptop ...so it ned not be a work specific lappy...also if any good comps then also do suggest though my budget for a computer is 40k

u can make a fairly awesome machine (desktop) for Rs. 40 K. with a faster core 2 duo with 1 GB ram and a pretty awesome graphic card. laptops for gaming? i had suggest, stick to a desktop.

can the grafhic card be changed?

really??? din noe that?!!!!!?......by the way is ATI radeon x1600 or NVIDIA 7300 or NVIDIA 7600 ok for the newer games........considering the fact that i always play counter strike or maybe tony hawks....can the much newer games like fear or maybe nfs carbon work on it (though i feel that the chances are really less🙁 )

that's why i suggest going for a desktop. get a cheaper card right now and upgrade to one that supports dx 10 when they become affordable. with laptops you would be stuck with the configuration u buy coz upgrading them is not economical or possible in most cases.

Why do you prefer these two brands only ?

Personally after my exp with a thinkpad, i would not think of buying anything else but. Oh..and i don't play games at all.

A laptop in India is a good idea for the simple reason of ever increasing amt of power cuts here.
