I have the following installed in my PC. Zone Alarm firewallAd-Aware SE PersonalSpybot - Search & DestroySpywareBlasterAvast AntivirusNote, all the above are freeware versions.I do regular checks and scanning from all the above. So, far i have not got any spywares or adwares or even viruses of that sort found by these utilities except on very few occasions. I also do regular updates on all the above. Now, I have a fear whether since these are freeware, i doubt whether this is enough to protect my PC from the ever luring viruses, trojans, spywares, adwares, and key loggers, etc, etc.I want to know whether this is more than enough to protect my PC or can anyone suggest alternatives (free would be better). BTW, I have broadband connection which is on most of the time.

I'd say that you need not worry just because of the reason
that they all are freewares . keep updating them & use daily .

for best security, put a linux firewall between u and the internet. then install a good antivirus, antispyware, use firefox and then use a limited user account instead of the administrator account.

Hey max...care to explain more on Linux Firewall? I need some majr details with a software product name if so exists..xD!

Kaspersky AV 6, Windows Defender, Firefox, surfing habits (stay away from crack/porn sites and other shady sites), create restore points at regular intervals and you'll be fine (works for me atleast). Installing multiple AV and spyware removal programs will only lead to conflicts and crashes if anythin.

LC, u will need a separate machine to setup a Linux firewall. Basically you will be putting a new box and NATing your PC behind it. The Linux firewall is highly configurable and prevents unnecessary packets from reaching inside your network. I have 3 Unpatched WinXP machines running on my network and none of them have been infected until now 🙂
