I am trying to create a doom proof computer.
I just purchased us robotics 56k modem

it supports dos and also supports call drop for rs 2400 from Amazon.only 1 was left for that price!

I am trying to find old pc that will be 100% compatible with dos\win 95

The reason i am doing this is to create by own BBS system where indian users will be able to connect with me and others if the shit hits the fan and internet and www is banned.

my salary is not very much high.Infact i am not under taxable category.Whats the use of money when there is nothing to buy due to economic collapse.

also in an event of martial law the govt can switch off the phone lines so i have decided to step up even more.

ok i was thinking of going packet radio.cb radios are delicensed and it costs upto 15,000 rs.You need a special modem call terminal node connector but you can software emulate it via your sound card which acts as a modem converting radio waves to beeps.you can setup your own bbs node and interconnect with others.kinda of like wifi old school

how many people in India will have that? you might end up shouting anybody there for your remaining life. when full collapse is there people will be more worried about food shelter clothes than stupid things like internet and why people will try to reach you? if you tell you will act as contact for people around your place for the world to reach and give/take help then ok. but you talk as if you are going to hide and do nothing. so why reach you? to share jokes and funny pictures?
