i changed my connection in to dial up mode several days before and i had no problem in scheduler also but today what happened i don't know but now dial up mode is not working 🙁when i changed back in to pppop always on connection than net works fine and i used my usage also no problem at all,but i did not understand why my dial up mode is not working now,it shows some error like678🙁,anybody have any idea,i can not schedule if i am not at dial up mode,this mean i will loss 5GB daily🙁,so please help me how can i fix this problem,i reinstall dial up connection but is shows same error i write password very carefully also but i can not connect to net through dial up mode,i think bsnl not allow me through dial up:madness:,are u friends using dial up mode without any problem till today,this is my first problem in dial up mode🙁

Your modem model is it a secret ?
Start run type cmd type IP/config/all when in "always on Mode " report
If it works on "Always on" mode Lan ethernet card is OK.
In your modem go to Advanced Diagnostics page ? where it shows fail ?
Error code 678 "There is no answer"
Error 721: The remote computer is not responding.
Error 678: The remote computer failed to respond.
Error 691: Access was denied because the user name and/or password was invalid on the domain.
Error 777: The connection attempt failed because the modem or other connecting device on the remote computer is out of order.
Now start/run/ type cmd type ping 192.168.1.1

i want to say thanks for you friends who care other members all time,
i was last updated windows xp on date 14 jan but my connection works fine till 25 jan afternoon in dial up mode,but at night around 9:30pm when i connected error 678 came and said remote computer did not respond🙁,i did not install any new software at 24 jan,if problem will not solve then only way is to install fresh windows xp sp2,i am trying everything u said,but till today i can not get success in dial up mode,this is very bad for me,i can not wake up at 2am like everybody,may be i have to change plan in to 900ul,because there is no use of 500h plan if we can not schedule at night daily,i think its madhya pradesh bsnl,who is not allow in dial up mode connection now,any member from madhya pradesh in this forum uses dial up mode please tell me is it working or not in mp without error 678🙁

there is some problem involved with bsnl some times ( may be if the server is busy ) sometimes i also on my dataone not able to connect with the same error message .it is usually during 9 pm - 2 am .try connecting at least once 2 am - 10am to ensure that there is no technicall fault with in your own system but with the bsnl server.
@nsaxena Save your current modem settings ( MT882) "always on" PPP/PPPoE mode.Try again "Dialup" "Bridged" mode . Save reboot . wait for 2 or 3 minutes. After you dial and get the error message open modem page check "Diagnostics" . does it say Authentication failure ?Update . Just check this.Network/Lan/properties/TCP/IP properties/ Advanced . WINS netbios settings : default is selected ?OR post your TCP/IP settings. IPconfig/all

whenever i dialed in event viewer these error occursYour computer has automatically configured the IP address for the Network Card with network address 001676C701A8. The IP address being used is 169.254.132.67.The following error occurred: The semaphore timeout period has expired. .
