Hi all,
I was using bsnl broadband via phone line with ADSL2 modem cum router D-Link DSL-2750U. now i recently switched to idea wifi.
its a PPPOE connection. they gave me an id and password which was used to create a connection via Ethernet port.
now i was trying to use my DLINK DSL-2750U to set up a wifi network using WLAN, but unfortunately it didn't work.
Could anyone please help me configuring device properly?
Thanks in advance
Prateek Kaushal

Idea WIFI - did they give you a VPI/VCI? That may need to be changed first.

Does your modem setup to the ethernet port work. ie can you access the net over the lan wire connected to the ethernet port? If yes then check the user guide at http://www.dlink.co.in/products/?pid=452 if no then you will have to get the VPI/VCI numbers from your ISP.

That would be required for the modem settings not the wifi 🙂

no i cant. i was using it as a adsl modem and router before. i know it is capable of working as a dsl cable router too. but cant setup properly.
i did everything from following posts:

Yeah a bot a bot. On a more serious note does your device support the option where the ISP provided LAN cable (I suppose their broadband comes to your house via such a cable, if not this post is redundant) goes into the 1-4 lan port to give you wifi. I know TP-Link td-w8968 does but not sure about your device

Hi Prateek Kaushal,
I am facing same problem, with the D-Link router 2750U.
I also used it for BSL BB, and now switched to Idea wifi.
I am not able to create PPOE connection from this router.
Only work around I am using is to configure my laptop network with static IP like 192.168.1.5, same IP as gateway and primary DNS.
Then dial connection for PPPOE from laptop .
Before this I have to configure IDEA dial up connection as shared, by selecting the network interface by which laptop is connected to D-Link(wifi or ethernet)
This allow me to connect other devices over wifi where I have to configure other devices with static IP like I did for laptop, with IP 192.168.1.x and gateway as 192.168.1.5(same as laptop from where we dialed IDEA connection).
But there is big issue is that I have to keep my laptop switched on in order to use Idea WIFI over wireless by other devices like smartphone.
The real soltuion would to find a way to make D-Link router itself connect to idea wifi via PPPOE on its own(instead of dialing from PC).
Please let me know if you have found PPOE solution for this router otherwise I feel it was watse of money for thi router.
