I have Nokia 5130 Xpressmusic since 2008. I was in Jamshedpur in 2008 , I bought this mobile & took a cellone prepaid mobile connection. After lots of problem I was able to configure GPRS then. I was using internet in mobile & desktop Pc through my mobile also. The useage rate of GPRS was very less like 1 paisa per minute / webpage ( or something like that). In July / Aug 2009 , I was transferred to Kolkata . after using the same SIM at kolkata for 10 - 15 days , I took Cellone SIM at kolkata & started uisng in the same mobile phone. Pls note I have not activated GPRS in this new SIM , which I am using in my old Nokia 5130 Xpressmusic . In Sept / Oct 2009 , I had suddenly discovered that without activating GPRS in my new SIM , I am able to use internet through my Nokia 5130 Xpressmusic mobile browser. I can visit any site , check my gmail , can attach pictures & mail the same to everybody from my mobile. very surprisingly the usage rate is very very low like 1 paisa / per complete webpage ...even lesser than that. But mobile apps like Nimbuzz , googlemap ...etc was not working in my mobile (connection problem). I was very happy with my BSNL GPRS. It was very very cheap (almost free of cost) . It was quite fast too.Yesterday , it was working fine also . I had downloaded new opera browser & facebook-mobile apps AND installed it. These apps was also not working. I tried to start facebook apps & it failed to connect. Then it said (press * for help). I did. I got some information about settings . I tried a very few as I didn't wanted to disturb the settings. But from then it stopped working . From then till now I am not able to use GPRS / internet in my mobile . I restarted mobile , did manual search for network ... etc .. all in veins .... 🙁 It is not working .... sometimes it is showing "subscribe to packet data first" , " failed to connect the internet " ...etc ; though the EDGE / GPRS sign "E" is still showing in my mobile screen. some info about my existing mobile settings as follows ....settings - > connectivity ->packet data - > packet data conn. => always online , packet data settings => active access point = acess point 1 ; edit active access pt. = > Alias for access point = access point 1 ; packet data acc. pt. = gprseast.cellone.insettings - > configuration --> default config. sett. = BSNL East Act. def. in all apps = activate preferred acess pt. = BSNL GPRS PERSONAL CONFIG SETT. ---> My access point --> Account Name = My access point Access point settings ---> Data Bearer = Packet Data Bearer Settings--->packet data acc. pt.= gprseast.cellone.in Network type = IPv4 Authentication type = normal user name = blank password = blank My Web -->> Account name = my web user name = blank password = blank Use pref. access pt. = yes Access point settings = ( pref. access pt. is in use ) !!! please help me to get my old setting back so that I can use GPRS in my mobile as cheap & fast as earlier.waiting for your replies ....
