End-to-end encryption for RCS starts rolling out in Google Messages beta

Google announced that end-to-end encryption was coming to its RCS messaging system last month. At the time, all we knew was that the rollout would begin

@Sushubh Nope, I don't think it displays the people active on chat. I might be wrong, as I don't have anyone who has it enabled.

Sadly this the only indication. Also as dual sim functionality is not available thats another hindrance & its also not compatible across message apps. Discussed in another thread..

Waiting for Google Messages to launch Categories like Micorsoft's SMS Organiser. Its announced, but not yet launched. If it works like SMS Organiser (no notiifcation for Promotional sms, rules to delete OTP and Promotional messages), then I can switch completely to Google's Messages.

A week or so ago, I did see something like that on Google Messages. Messages were categorized, but it went back to normal soon after.

@Samuel Yesterday when I was trying out experiments with RCS I had installed Google Messages for a little while I had the same experience as you. I was focused on other features so I actually thought I imagined it. 😁😁

Google rolls back a buggy update that stopped people from sending texts

The latest updates to Google's carrier services app has apparently left some users unable to send or receive SMS messages, while others report long delays in service.

I don't have encryption on any of my devices yet.

Many devices are having rcs but its still not interoperable. I had mentioned in a post before a msg from Samsung Messages (though it supports rcs) will still go as a sms & not data if sent to Google Messages. And vice versa. Can anyone confirm if this has changed?

The screenshot I've shared is of a conversation between a Pixel and a Xiaomi phone. Both use Google Messages app.

Yup. Did kinda similar test. Between Pixel 3 XL and Redmi Note 8 Pro, has Google Messages app with RCS enabled. No encryption yet.
