@Nishant Which app, this is supposed to work on Google messages which is the default app on Asus Max Pro M1. I have contacted both Jio & Asus both claim there's no problem at their end. RCS works on the crappy Jio Call app so I wonder if they are playing some mischief vis a vis Google messages.

Yeah, Google Messages. I thought Asus had their own native app.

Both Asus Max Pro M1 & M2 run on near stock Android

I just checked and confirmed. RCS got active for me on Airtel way back in December 2019.

RCS even works on Vodafone bin Mumbai on Asus & some Samsung phones.

Works on S10 Lite with Airtel.

I guess Samsung's SMS app also supports RCS.
When I recently opened SMS app, it had several options like Chat, show other person is typing, etc.

Anyways I am using Microsoft's "SMS Organizer" since it was launched, and continue to use it until other Samsung or Google provides similar features.

Problem with Google messages is, if you have dual Sim RCS will not work.

Google tells me two things. Dual SIM support is rolled out at least in USA. And it might work on the SIM being used for call and data by default on the phone.

So setting same Sim for call and data worked for one Sim. But still dual Sim functionality is missing.

I have been using Microsoft SMS Organiser for last 2 years. Best SMS app for India. Supports dual SIM and also auto filters spams.
