Google confirmed that the Pixel 4a 5G and 5 will be discontinued. The Pixel 4a and the new Pixel 5a are Google's affordable options in 2021.

I think Pixel product's lifespan is shortest. They discontinue previous product immediately after newer version is announced.
iPhone, Samsung, others continue to sell past products for longer duration.
