Indian Government: All webmail services would be asked to route all emails from Indian servers

Will this apply to those who registered with Indian Ip's?
what about those who registered with gmail/yahoo outside India but now using in India?
The defenition will be mail originating or going to Indian IP address?
what about Indians who registered here but now living abroad or accessing their "anywhere email "from out side India?

the HT report basically said that any communication from inside indian borders has to be processed through servers hosted in india so that they can be intercepted whenever desired.

----------

so if you created a yahoo or google account outside india but are accessing it from india, indian government wants the capability to monitor it.

too bad gmail does not offer encrypted email through the web interface. you can of course use pgp (or other) encryption in a compatible email client 😀

----------

would be fun when the government asks PGP to let them process encrypted files and other type of content 😀

What does govt want to know by doing all this stuff?
