Goods & Services Tax (GST) Updates

In normal circumstances, you have to upload data of all your invoices and purchases on gst portal on month to month basis. While in e-invoicing, your invoice data is already shared with gst portal in real time! Generating e-invoice is also not hard.

Okay, I see.

Currently I am using a software that first prepares invoices, then when I want to file, uploads the data.

In e-Invoicing system, that 'data' would already be in the system, I would only then need to 'file' it, correct?

I wonder why wouldn't the system automatically consider the GSTR-1 filed then? Or does it?

I will have to look into this.. at this rate they are coming for people like me.. 🙄

Exactly, they can mark it as filed but probably have left it manual as a backup measure. I am not sure on this if we have to file this or not.

Eventually, everyone will be shifted on e-invoicing to increase compliance.
