dats good.well, applying for and changing plans is quite easy here in Delhi via the online CC site. Not sure abt Bombay  MTNL does have different levels of service at Delhi and Bombay...

Speed is pretty good. But you have to go to exchange for pretty much everything except bill payment.

Many ppl define speed as latency, many ppl define speed as bandwidth. If you are into VOIP or Online gaming, latency (ping times) become as imp as bandwidth.

Though ping times wont affect your download speed if file is large.

I found one thing stragne, I am getting ping times ~300ms for google.co.in and yahoo.co.in as well. My connection is okay since ping times to MTNL servers are good

Code:

ping doesnt depend on speed , it depends on routing
[/b]

Mr. ultra_wires when u ping d default gateway of an ISP wht highly technical routes r u talkin abt. And FYI when u ping yahoo / google or any other server u get a response based upon d IP which gets resolved @ tht pnt of time. In laymans language a lower ping response is directly proportional to gud speeds. PING is a very basic network connectivity test & has nothing 2 do with routing. Its d rtr which decides how 2 Xfer ur ICMP packets. :p
