I am on a simple 32 bit single user PC, i am hard put to choose between Linux Mint and Linux Mint Debian edition. Linux Mint has the advantage of being on the bleeding edge of things with every new release of Ubuntu, on the other hand once you install LMDE you are set for life, there is the possibility of instability and crashes because the default is always set to Testing, but if you choose your updates wisely from Synaptic and eschew the compulsive Windoze urge to constantly update automatically, you are home free. Needless to say, both have the trademark Mint Polish and conveniences like ease of driver installation, pre-installed multimedia codecs, and an entire suite of most commonly used applications that come with the default DVD. Btw, i was raised on Gnome when i grew up with Ubuntu, so KDE, fluxbox, etc. do not exist for me.
