Excitel is spying on customers with their Fiber ONU (PPC Belden)

Excitel is not spying on anyone. There is a an option for bridged ONU, but that's without WiFi and customer should purchase separately their own WiFi Router and be responsible for Quality of Experience it provides - most customers do not want to do it because they are not having tech knowledge and see no benefit in doing it.
Excitel is owner of the ONU and is using www.excitel.com ssid for advertising itself. That's it, as simple as that 🙂
 
Dumb onu is impossible to get through lcos.
 
That would cause extra hassle to them, suppose a stupid customer bricks the device or messes up the settings, that's why its all locked down and controlled by tr069.
