Oh if you'r definition of living on broadband is firewalls only

then the best firewall is hardware firewall
and its built right in the modem which bsnl has provided
once you set the firewall right iin the modem
no software firewall can match it ...

well....hardware firewall is good only for protection from incoming thingy...

u need a software firewall for all those useless stuff you throw at the net.

well.....not all require software firewalls...

But some do.....who know nuthin abt how to protect their pc's and others.

Out of the 16 softwares listed only 3 are firewalls... so that is not my definition, but your way of looking at the same. And one more thing, many people have been looking for solutions on how to do portforwarding in their router/modem.. it would be really Godsend to them if you could do a write-up for them. Thanks in advance for the same.

P.S.: I too would be one of the benificiaries of your post. I have a `UT-300R-2 router/modem

He means the outgoing traffic from things like keyloggers, spyware etc. These can be effectively trapped by a decent firewall' BTW wish you all the best in your exams 🙂

Thanks for good wishes pupudada 🙂Well if you have rogue programs .. then antivirus agents can catch them firsthandbut I do agee you will know which program is connecting to net ..

Exactly! thats why i stick to my Windows Firewall! I'm satisfied! All responsible users know how to stay away from all problems and all those who dont know, will, some day! We have all come through that stage!
